Bio-Active Carbon has a unique pore structure designed to house beneficial bacteria which consume organic toxins; helping to stabilise its high rate of removal.

If the correct conditions are present, it can additionally help remove ammonia/ammonium and nitrite.

Furthermore, it also removes; toxic chlorine, chloramines, impurities, heavy metals, pungent odours and will help to clear up your water by removing the yellow tinge.

It can be used in fresh and saltwater aquariums without significantly affecting pH.

Our Bio-Active Carbon is made from premium-selected grades of bituminous coal specifically chosen for use in ultra-pure water sanitisation applications, originally designed for human consumption.

It will not leach toxic compounds and has a large size which improves hydrodynamics and makes it easier to use.

Instructions:

Use gloves when handling. Weigh required amount, place it into the mesh bag (supplied), secure the top, let it degas for at least 10 minutes by placing it into a bucket of clean (DI/RO) water.

Thoroughly rinse with clean (DI/RO) water and place it into your aquarium in an area that will allow large, continuous water volumes to pass through it. After use immediately close lid firmly on bucket.

Store in a cool, dry place.

Dosing:

For normal filtration:
0.25 grams of carbon per litre of water or 1 gram of carbon per 4 L of water
For copper removal (using Ultimate Aquacare Copper Treatment product):
2.5 grams per litre of water or 10 grams per 4 L of water

We recommend changing every 3-4 weeks however, depending on your aquarium stock level may mean you’ll need to change it accordingly.

CAUTION:

Keep out of reach of children. May cause skin irritation. In case of contact with eyes, or swallowed rinse immediately with water and seek medical advice.

ALL activated carbons remove Iodine so we advise when using this or any other activated carbon; make sure that Iodine levels are monitored. This may also remove Iron.
