  • Easy to grow
  • Large and hardy plant
  • Ruffled, wavy leaves

Aponogeton crispus is an easygoing and robust plant that will catch eyes in any aquarium it is planted in. This plant can get quite large and, as it grows, will produce wavy, green leaves that are slightly transparent in appearance. It is not uncommon to see flowers from this plant under optimal conditions as well.

Overall, Aponogeton crispus is hardy and easy to grow. Since it grows from a bulb, it should be planted on top or half out of the substrate, rather than completely buried.

Note: The leaves are fragile and may be damaged in transit, but there is no need for concern because the bulb will sprout new leaves within a couple of weeks.

  • Scientific Name: Aponogeton crispus
  • Native To: India, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka
  • Skill Level: Easy
  • Placement: Midground to background
  • Recommended Light: Low to High Light 10-50+ PAR (click to see our PAR chart)
  • CO2 Requirement: none
  • Preferred Fertilizer: Easy Green liquid fertilizer and Easy Root Tabs
  • Propagation: Makes self-pollinating flowers that can produce seeds

***Being a natural product, sizes can vary from what is shown.***

Note: This plant may come with a few leaves growing from the bulb. However, the leaves are delicate and it is common for them to be damaged in transit. More leaves will grow within a week or two after being planted in an aquarium.

Directions

1. Place the bulb on top of the substrate or about halfway buried until you see some growth. It will send roots down into the substrate to hold itself in place. Do not bury the entire bulb or else the plant may suffer.
